This is a very exciting area of teaching school development and EMTSA intend to embrace the benefits and challenges Research and Innovation will present. If we are to become a truly self improving system the prominence of this area is likely to continue to grow over time. EMTSA Research and Development should inform our CPD provisions through rigorous investigation and development of recommendations to improve pedagogy.
All Teaching School Alliances and Action Research Leaders will receive regular CPD through our partnerships with HEIs. This partnership is vital to ensure alliances and leaders have the capability and rigor needed to ensure the action research findings are useful and can effectively inform our CPD initiatives. HEIs will also provide bespoke access and opportunities linked to MA study.
EMTSA aims to share the outcomes and quality assurance processes undertaken through show case events, where groups of action researchers can share their projects and findings through workshops within a conference style event. This will allow prospective schools interested in being involved in areas of research and learning from others. We also intend to create a Research and Development Summary Area within our VLE for all partners to access and use.
Each Teaching School Alliance intends to prioritise key areas of research such as, Literacy, Numeracy and the ICT pedagogy and curriculum. It is hoped that Teaching Schools will become recognised leaders in research and development. However teaching schools will also use their partnerships with other organisations to develop a wide range of R&D projects with their strategic partners.
